Tusk emerged out of a desire to combine material integrity, honest construction, and assembly-oriented design. Ancient construction techniques provided the solution.The tusk-tenon joint is one of the oldest known types of joinery. It has been used for 7000 years, thanks to its mechanical strength as well as its material homogeneity, which makes it resistant to degradation.
The tusk joint enables this piece to realize the market ideal of design-for-assembly while bringing the user into closer contact with traditional building methods.
